Privacy notice

This notice explains how Saint-Maurice Barber collects, uses and protects the information on its loyalty card. It is written in plain words. If a sentence isn't clear, write to us.

Who is responsible

Saint-Maurice Barber is responsible for your personal information. Address: 512, 5e Rue de la Pointe, Shawinigan (Québec) G9N 1E7.

The person in charge of protecting personal information at Saint-Maurice Barber can be reached at book@stmauricebarber.ca.

OVITAL Media provides the loyalty card service on behalf of Saint-Maurice Barber. OVITAL acts for Saint-Maurice Barber and does not use your information for its own purposes.

What we collect

  • Your first name.
  • Your email.
  • The day and month of your birthday, if you give them. Never the year.
  • Your consents: the exact wording you accepted, the date, the time and where it came from (the plaque or link used).
  • Your visits, your points and your rewards at Saint-Maurice Barber only.
  • The referral link, if a member invited you or you invite a friend.

We do not collect your address, your phone number, your year of birth or any payment information. Your location is never sent: the reminder near a location is handled by your phone.

Why

  • To manage your card: add your points, give you your rewards.
  • To recognize you at the counter with the code on your card.
  • To send your card again if you change phones.
  • To mark your birthday, if you gave it to us.
  • To email you offers, only if you agreed to it.
  • To give Saint-Maurice Barber overall statistics (number of visits, for example), with no names.

How long

Your card and your history are deleted automatically after 24 months with no activity. We write to you 30 days before.

You can delete your card at any time from the back of the card ("Delete my card"). Saint-Maurice Barber can also delete it at your request.

The totals kept afterwards contain nothing that identifies you.

Who receives what

To run the card, Saint-Maurice Barber and OVITAL use these suppliers. Each one receives only what it needs.

Access by OVITAL staff

OVITAL staff can view members' information to run the service and check that it works properly. Every access is logged: who, when and what.

Emails and lock-screen messages

You receive offers by email only if you ticked the box when you signed up. Every email has a link to unsubscribe, and your card keeps working.

Emails about your card (welcome, the link to change phones, the notice before deletion) are sent even without that subscription.

Lock-screen messages are part of the card you added. To stop them, turn off the card's notifications in Wallet.

What we don't do

Your information is never sold. These pages use no advertising tracker and no visitor statistics tool.

Your rights

You can ask to see your information, have it corrected, withdraw a consent or have it deleted.

Write to Saint-Maurice Barber: book@stmauricebarber.ca.

You can also write to OVITAL: contact@ovitalmedia.com.

If the answer doesn't satisfy you, you can file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.
